Curious about the recurring themes in Flora’s Asian and Redhead comic series, we reached out to her and she kindly shared. A lot of my inspiration comes from my Western friends and how their perspectives differ from mine. Additionally, my experience as an immigrant living in the US has highlighted a lot of cultural differences which I love exploring in my comics.

Flora also shared more insights into the topics that inspire her comics. Another key influence is my husband’s experience living in Hong Kong which gives him a unique perspective on certain situations. She also mentioned her travel adventures saying I often incorporate memories from our one-year trip around South America Europe and even a cruise into my comics. These experiences add another layer to the cultural contrasts I enjoy exploring.
