In reflecting on the challenges he faced at the beginning of his artistic journey Andrés shared When I first started this project, I didn’t know how to combine humor with design. I loved both, but it was a challenge, and it still is. He emphasized that the key to overcoming these obstacles has been consistent practice. The thing that has helped me the most is practice practice practice. I used to create three comics per day because I wanted to improve, and I knew there wasn’t a secret formula or shortcut to making good comics. His dedication to honing his craft has been pivotal in shaping his success.

When asked about the most rewarding parts of being a comic artist, Andrés shared, that I get to do what I love and the best part is that my office is at home, so I can spend a lot of time with my family. Having both short-term and long-term goals keeps me motivated, and my wife and I work together, which is amazing. We have so many exciting ideas for Wawawiwa.
