He enjoys imagining the backstories and interactions of the people around him. Some ideas just pop up randomly. Having a notebook or a phone to jot them down helps he explained. This spontaneous approach allows him to capture the unexpected moments and quirky observations that often fuel his comics.

Like many artists, Alvin faces challenges in his creative journey. He shared that writer’s block is something he frequently encounters especially when he’s unable to fully develop an idea or when he’s feeling burnt out. I’m still struggling with it but my usual approach is to take a break and then continue sketching afterward he explained. This process helps him refresh his mind and overcome the creative obstacles that arise.

I’d spend an hour or two sketching, quickly churning out a bunch of rough drafts and then picking out the ones I think will work he explained. This method helps him capture the initial ideas and refine them into the sharp witty comics fans love.
