During his journey, he visited several paradise-like locations, only to witness firsthand how human activity and pollution were threatening their beauty. This stark realization inspired him to use his art to raise awareness about environmental issues.
I wanted to use my art to raise awareness about ecology by incorporating pop culture characters Baptiste explained. I thought that using characters people already love, would make the message more impactful. When you see a polar bear suffering from climate change it’s heartbreaking, but if you see a beloved character going through the same pain, it taps into your childhood memories and leaves a much stronger impression. By fusing iconic pop culture figures with environmental themes, Baptiste’s art brings attention to ecological concerns in a way that resonates deeply with viewers. His work not only serves as a creative outlet but also as a powerful tool for sparking conversations about sustainability and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations.
