Mohit Srivastava’s journey as a comic artist showcases a unique blend of his dark humor roots with a more thoughtful approach to storytelling. While he still enjoys edgy works like Super (2010) and Kick-Ass (2010) and content by creators such as @sirjoancornella and explosmofficial Mohit admits that his style has evolved over the years. In his recent interview with Bored Panda, he shared that he’s learned to weave in lighter humor all while maintaining his authentic voice. This evolution has allowed him to create comics that connect with a broader audience.

As always, Bored Panda took the time to chat with the artist, and here’s what Mo had to share. When asked about handling criticism and backlash Mohit explained As a human you can only understand so much about the different cultures around the world. Sometimes, my comics might upset others and I’m grateful when people share their perspectives on them. My approach is to listen respect other’s views and make a mental note to avoid repeating the same mistakes. Of course, there are times when people are just unnecessarily offensive and I don’t pay much attention to those. I truly believe that if you stay kind patient and respectful haters will eventually become your admirers.

When we asked what keeps him motivated as a creator the artist revealed The community and support that’s growing over time is priceless. There’s nothing like receiving a DM from a stranger telling me they were having a bad day until they stumbled upon my page, and now they’ve been laughing for the last half hour. Or when a follower shows me pictures of a tattoo inspired by my comic. Even though I disappear for weeks months or even years I always come back to the same people who never unfollowed me and are still cheering for my work.

“Reflecting on the power of humor in storytelling Mohit shared I believe that making someone smile is a superpower in itself. Humor helps people forget their worries even if only for a moment, and I think that’s not just a need of the 21st century but also a small service to the world. Humor allows people to lower their guard and open up. If you’re trying to sell something my advice is to use humor to break the ice make your client or customer feel comfortable and then bring in the business.

He shared with us why he chose to create for a global audience saying Personally I don’t believe in boundaries religions or divisions we’ve created all of that ourselves. So why should I limit myself to a specific group? I want to make satire and jokes about all kinds of people and countries without discrimination haha. I understand there’s no such thing as truly universal content but I just don’t want to get stuck in trying to find a niche or a specific crowd. Instead, I want to focus on creating content the best way I can and hope that the right audience will find it.
