Sarah Graley shared that her love for drawing and storytelling has always been a driving force behind her creative journey and comics were the perfect medium to bring both together. I went to university in the UK to study illustration, but my course wasn’t all that great. However, it did give me the time to focus on comics alongside my studies and Our Super Adventure was one of the projects that came out of that time Sarah explained.
It was during this period that she also worked on a fictional comic called Pizza Witch which she posted online. Her dedication paid off when an editor from Oni Press reached out and asked if she’d be interested in creating a Rick and Morty comic. This moment marked the beginning of her journey into the comic book industry proving that passion and persistence can open unexpected doors.

Since the comics are autobiographical, she’s always ready to jot down ideas as they come to her. I reach for my sketchbook the moment an idea hits, so I don’t forget it she explained. I end up with little collections of scrappy, rough versions of the comics and it’s always fun to look back on them. This spontaneous approach allows her to preserve the charm of the moment translating it into the heartwarming relatable comics fans love.
