Jim Benton (born October 31, 1960) is an award-winning cartoonist and author behind iconic characters such as “It’s Happy Bunny,” “Dear Dumb Diary,” “Franny K. Stein,” and “Catwad”. Raised in Birmingham, Michigan, Jim studied fine arts at Western Michigan University. He began designing T-shirts and soon launched his comic strips.
