After wrapping up her previous webcomic Roar Street Journal, Bonnie Pang felt inspired to create something that would capture the humor and heart of her life with her software engineer husband. Reflecting on the spark behind IT Guy & Art Girl, Bonnie shared that After finishing Roar Street Journal, I wanted to start a new comic. At the time, I was in a relationship so I thought it would be fun to create a comic about the daily life of my boyfriend now husband, and me. We both have very different careers I’m an artist and he’s a software engineer. I thought this contrast could lead to some funny moments so I named us IT Guy & Art Girl. Her relatable portrayal of their contrasting worlds has struck a chord with fans offering an entertaining glimpse into the quirks of their everyday relationship.

Bonnie Pang’s creative process for IT Guy & Art Girl is deeply rooted in the everyday moments she shares with her husband. She explained I don’t usually collaborate with my IT guy on ideas. I mostly draw inspiration from our interactions and turn those into comics. After working on this webcomic for a while there are times when something funny happens and IT Guy will suggest You should turn that into a comic. This blend of real-life moments and playful ideas has helped Bonnie create relatable and humorous stories that her audience loves all while capturing the sweet dynamics of her relationship.

We adopted a cat not too long ago and pets have become a regular theme in my comics since then.
