Happy Fluff Comics is the delightful creation of Indian illustrator and webcomic artist Akshara Ashok. Shared widely on Instagram under @happyfluffcomics, these charming and relatable strips follow the everyday adventures of “Fluff,” a warm-hearted, goofy 20-something navigating the highs and lows of modern womanhood.

Akshara Ashok, based in Chennai, India, started drawing Fluff in 2017 as a side passion during architecture school. What began as simple sketches became a viral hit after a comic about trial-room anxieties resonated with many. Today, she’s a full-time freelance illustrator with over 240K followers, regularly publishing comics that are heartfelt, humorous, and unfiltered.

Akshara never planned for Fluff to take off. She was initially hesitant, even keeping it secret from close friends. But after that breakout comic, she leaned fully into her authentic voice. Graduating as an architecture student, she transitioned into freelancing, balancing paid commissions with Fluff’s relatable storytelling that tackles real-life issues—periods, anxiety, body image, mental health, and more.
