In a past interview, Mohit Srivastava the Indian artist behind the username SpaceBoyCantLol shared the story of how his artistic journey began. My parents always tell me that when I was a kid, I stumbled upon a few comic books, and that’s when I fell in love with them he explained. “While other kids my age were reading fairy tales I was running around with my cousin graphic novels just flipping through the pictures. I couldn’t understand the advanced English in them but the artwork spoke to me in a way nothing else did. This early fascination with comics sparked his creative path leading him to explore his unique style and voice as an artist. Today, SpaceBoyCantLol is known for his quirky and dark comics each full of humor and unexpected twists.

Growing up Mohit Srivastava was always drawing comicswhether on blank sheets of paper or even on the backs of test papers at school. I probably got a lot of detentions for it but I don’t have any regrets he laughed. Now working as a creative lead for a US-based company, his day job isn’t centered around comics, but he continues to nurture his passion for them through his social media page. I keep the love for comics alive by sharing my work online and staying connected with others who appreciate that creative side of me he explained. Despite the shift to a more conventional career his commitment to comic art remains strong and his unique style continues to captivate followers online.

Despite his initial hesitation, it was Mohit Srivastava’s younger sister who encouraged him to start his comic page and he eventually gave in to her suggestion. I’ve always been fascinated by space so when I created my comic page, I wanted to reflect that part of me he explained. That’s why I named it SpaceBoyCantLol the Spaceboy part represented me and I would draw comics about funny situations where I’m the one getting caught up in the chaos. For a while, he stuck with that theme, but over time his creativity expanded. I started experimenting with movie spoofs and dark humor. It’s funny now my comic portfolio is a mix of everything with one simple rule: there are no rules. The result? A unique blend of quirky twisted and often unexpected content that’s earned him a dedicated following online.
