Kim Winder better known as The RedDot Comics, is an artist who refuses to hold back. With her unapologetically raw and irreverent perspective on life, she’s carved out a unique niche in the art world. Kim’s work is anything but ordinary. Her comics are filled with humor and boldness and often delve into spicy topics that others might shy away from. As she explains there are no boundaries when it comes to her art. If it’s funny or if I need to express something in terms of catharsis, I draw it Kim shared in a previous interview. She’s especially passionate about creating content that embraces sex positivity for women and aims to normalize conversations about it. Kim recently shared an update on what’s changed since her last feature. Not a whole bunch. The great thing about my comics is I take it day-to-day, so whatever feels funny or worth making is what I focus on Kim explained. She also mentioned that she’s started experimenting with turning some of her comics into animations which has been a fun new challenge for her.

Given that some of Kim’s comics can get pretty spicy, we were curious about how her friends and family react to the NSFW content. Kim revealed They’re all incredibly supportive and proud of my success. But we do avoid talking about certain things. Like I’m still not entirely sure my grandma knows what Gary is. Gary is a previously mentioned talking butt plug.

Curious about the advice Kim would give to budding comic artists trying to find their unique voice and audience, we asked for her thoughts. Kim’s response Be persistent and consistent. Social media algorithms are tough to navigate these days but if you stay true to your voice and keep going you’ll find your people.

Kim also shared what she hopes audiences take away from her comics. I’d hope to make someone laugh or help them feel more seen. That feminine sexuality and sex in general can be funny not taboo.
