Here’s something you’ve been waiting for a new comic series! Despite being a beginner in the comic field the artist makes a strong start by incorporating dark humor and hilarious twists into their work. Most of the situations in the series could be categorized as absurd yet many are surprisingly relatable. As the comic creator mentioned their inspiration can come from everyday experiences, observations of quirky behaviors, or even just a playful imagination. We reached out to the artist behind the comic series to learn more about their work. When asked what inspired them to create comics they shared, that they just want to share their ideas with others. Having a platform like Instagram allows my humor to reach a broader audience and connect with people who appreciate and enjoy the comedic elements of my comics. The creator of Drowsy Lines Comics gave us a peek into their creative process for me coming up with an idea for a specific sketch is a spontaneous process. I just go on with my daily life and routine. Every time I encounter a random scenario that could be turned into a comic, I write it down in my notes and then draw the comics when I get home.

When asked about the recurring themes in their series the cartoonist shared as much as possible, I want the working class to relate to my comics. Relatability, I think is a key comedic element that significantly impacts a sketch. For the art style, I keep it simple because I believe the minimal reactions of the characters add more humor to the sketches. Also, as the name of the page suggests I draw my comics before bedtime.

Lastly, the artist shared who inspires them in the world of comics and comedy. There’s a lot of inspiration but when it comes to writing clean material, I look up to stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan.
