Highbury Hills is inspired by my childhood and the everyday moments I shared with a close friend the artist explains. We often found ourselves in funny situations and I wanted to capture that feeling in my comics. He also drew inspiration from the humor and character dynamics in Archie Comics and Regular Show which is why Highbury Hills carries a lighthearted easy-going tone that blends real-life experiences with a touch of silliness. In Highbury Hills, I focus on themes of friendship humor, and the everyday challenges of growing up. Keith and Charles often find themselves in tricky situations but the heart of the story is how they stick together learn from their mistakes, and grow. The comic also highlights a strong sense of community, with different characters interacting and influencing one another showing how relationships shape who we become.

At its core Highbury Hills is about embracing the fact that it’s okay to mess up or feel out of place now and then. Those moments often lead to the funniest most valuable lessons. I hope that readers can laugh along with the characters and maybe even see a bit of themselves in their experiences.

For me, the most rewarding part of creating comics is seeing how readers connect with the characters and stories. When someone comments saying they laughed or that a certain scene reminded them of something from their life it’s an amazing feeling. I love taking everyday moments and turning them into something that brings a little joy or a smile to someone’s day. Another fulfilling aspect is creative freedom. I get to explore different scenarios, experiment with humor, and bring ideas to life visually. It’s a fun way to express myself and share my perspective with the world. Seeing everything come together in a finished comic is always satisfying especially when I know it resonates with others.
