Ren opened up about the challenges she faces in her creative process particularly when it comes to coloring her comics. I love writing new comics and doing the line work but colors are so important and I feel a lot of pressure to do them the best that I can she shared. For me, coloring takes up a lot of time. Despite the difficulty, Ren remains committed to ensuring her comics are as vibrant and well-crafted as possible recognizing that the extra effort adds depth and personality to her work.

For Ren, the ideal day for creating comics is when she has a few hours of solitude at home. I’ll put a cushion on the floor set up my iPad on the coffee table turn the TV on or an audiobook for background noise, and just get to work she explained. I love to get lost in the line work. It’s even better if I have a cold bubble tea and some Cheez-Its around to snack on. When she hits a creative block Ren takes a break by walking her dog to get moving and clear her mind. Even though she works digitally she always keeps paper and a pen in her workspace. Sometimes the ideas only want to turn out on paper she said.
