Caroline Rodriguez Velasco the creator of Strraycat recently shared the story behind her unique comic series and how she first got into making comics. She explained I started off drawing about very serious topics. But then at one point in my life, I realized that when people describe me, they always mention funny or weird. I started noticing that people would laugh hard at my jokes and enjoy listening to me when I embraced my weird side. That’s when I decided to embrace my comical side focusing on seeing the fun in everything and not taking life too seriously. Short comics became an easy way to share that with people.

Curious about where Caroline finds inspiration for her Strraycat strips we asked the artist how she comes up with new ideas. She explained I get ideas for new strips by just observing daily life. It can be anything. For example, when something awkward happens to me and I feel embarrassed, I try to look at it from a different angle one where I can laugh at how awkward I was. Also when I see people being rude or acting stupid instead of getting upset I picture them as super dumb little characters. That always makes me laugh and inspires me to draw it.
