We reached out to Aidee again to get a deeper look into the artist’s world and creative process. Given the mystical vibe of After Death Comics, we were curious if one of these comics could come to life for a day, which one would Aidee choose to experience in person? Nine Lives would be my personal choice. It would be nice to know that there’s an afterlife for pets and that they’re worried about us the cartoonist shared with us.

Many artists have their creative boundaries influenced by personal values, artistic vision, or audience considerations. So, we were curious if Aidee has any topics or themes they intentionally avoid in their work. Aidee shared, that I try to avoid topical subjects and their specifics. This is mainly to make sure that my comics (hopefully) still resonate in a decade or two.

It’s always fascinating to get a glimpse into the daily life of a cartoonist. We were curious about what a typical day looks like for Aidee and whether there are any unique habits or routines that influence their work. Aidee shared, that I usually lie in bed and scroll through the internet for a while. Some might call it procrastination but there’s a method to my laziness. Ideas don’t just appear out of nowhere; they come from your brain digesting and processing information whether consciously or unconsciously. I find that introducing new information to my brain helps with the creative process. After that, I get up and dive into some real procrastination that has nothing to do with work.
