Anton Gudim has amassed over 1 million followers on each of his comic accounts, captivating audiences with his unique creations. However, his path to the art world wasn’t a direct one. As Anton shared, I studied and graduated with a degree in engineering, focusing on mathematics. As an engineer, I found my work unfulfilling and felt a yearning for something more. This dissatisfaction led him to revisit his childhood hobbies but this time with a more mature perspective and worldview an approach he now applies to his comics, making them both relatable and thought-provoking.

Curious about Anton’s evolution in the comedic aspect of his illustrations we asked him about the changes in his work over time. Anton shared, At first I just told jokes from classic comics with dialogue and puns. Then the jokes became more absurd, and the dialogue almost disappeared. I started enjoying drawing comics about objects without characters in the frame. Over time humor began to fade from some of my work but it never completely disappeared.

Anton continued, It’s surprising that some artists don’t incorporate humor into their work because humor adds a significant layer of creativity. Life isn’t just serious and dark it’s also funny at times though often it’s a tragicomedy. He explained that over time, his focus shifted to exploring the unexpected qualities of things and events. Now, I find it interesting to branch out beyond just digital drawing experimenting with other genres like video sculpture or street art Anton shared reflecting on his evolving creative journey.
